Asante Kotoko legend, Samuel Opoku Nti has said that sitting in the dugout watching his team beat the Reds will make him sad.
According to 60-year-old, due to his unflinching love for Kotoko, he cannot witness a side he happens to manage defeat the Porcupines.
“I will feel sad if I beat Kotoko.”
However, the former Black Stars captain ruled out on becoming a coach for the club he loved most.
“On the other hand, if I choose to be a Kotoko coach, looking what is happening this generation maybe I won’t last. Because the coach will be sacrificed if there is any problem. With what I said earlier, if am sacrificed I can’t join any other club unless perhaps the national team.”
“The Kotoko job is difficult…Because of Kotoko’s success, the expectation is too high that there is no room for development. Therefore there is pressure all the time. That why not every player can play for Kotoko.”
Samuel Opoku Nti serves Asante Kotoko for five years, 1980-1985, before joining Swiss side Servette in 1986.
He also worked for Ghana’s most successful club as a General Manager when he turned to football administration after retirement.
