Swansea City will be up against Brentford in the Championship playoff final after seeing off Barnsley on a 2-1 aggregate after being held to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night.
Swansea came to the game with a one-goal advantage and doubled that tally when Matt Grimes curled a brilliant shot into the top corner from the edge of the box five minutes before halftime.
Barnsley however set up a grandstand finish, with Cauley Woodrow scoring at the end of a lightning-fast counter-attack to make it 2-1 on aggregate. But Steve Cooper’s side held on to book a date with Brentford at Wembley in seven days’ time.
Ayew scored the match winner in the first-leg which proved vital for his side’s qualification to the last gap.
