Asante Kotoko made light work of division on side Bekwai Youth Football Academy (BYFA) in a two-nil win at the Nana Gyamfi Park in Bekwai in the MTN FA Cup round of 64 tie.
The Porcupines will now progress to the round of 32 after escaping an early upset by the second-tier side.
Kotoko were obviously the better side for much of the game and ended up beating comfortably their opponents who offered rare resistance by 2 goals to nil.
Brazilian import, Fabio Gama broke the deadlock with a well-taken penalty kick in the 51st-minute after Christopher Nettey was brought down in the BYFA box.
Fabio Gama was again brought down few metres away from the BYFA goalpost and Emmanuel Keyekeh stood up to drive a beautiful free-kick to put the cake on the icing for the Porcupines.
The defending champions held on to finish the game 2-0 to progress to this season’s MTN FA Cup.
