Asante Kotoko SC have terminated the contract of Brazilian striker Michael Vinicius after barely three months, coach Mariano Barreto has confirmed.
Vinicius joined the Porcupines in March this year on a free transfer before the start of the second round of the Ghana premier league.
“Michael is leaving us, that’s all. The club will make a press release to explain why,” Barreto confirmed to Light FM after Kotoko’s FA Cup win over BYFA on Wednesday afternoon.
Recent reports have suggested that Vinicius have been missing training due to some bad lifestyle he’s been showing in Kumasi in the past few weeks. This could have informed the club’s decision to end their relationship with the Brazilian attacker.
The 27-year-old had a good start to his Asante Kotoko career, scoring two in four appearances.
