Black Stars coach CK Akonnor has named St Gallen goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi in post to replace under-fire Razak Abalora in this evening’s international friendly game against Ivory Coast at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The game will be Ati Zigi’s first since Ghana lost to Mali in Turkey in 2020 in an international friendly.
The 24-year-old kept 11 clean sheets in 35 matches for the Swiss top league and is rated one of the best in that league.
Thomas Partey who missed out on the Morocco game will take the place of Daniel Lomotey with captain Andre Ayew starting.
Akonnor’s men lost to Morocco on Tuesday night by a lone goal and will be hoping to make amends against the Elephants tonight.
Lawrence Ati Zigi, Andy Yaidom, Abdul Baba Rahman, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku, Baba Iddrisu, Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Emmanuel Gyasi.
