Two fans of Karela United have been arrested for attacking Medeama SC players and breaking the windows of the team’s bus after their MTN FA Cup Round of 32 encounter at the CAM Park in Anyinase.
Medeama defeated Karela 2-1 to progress to the round of 16 of the competition. After the game, Karela fans attacked Medeama players and damaged their team bus.
However, seven men are believed to have initiated the attack and news picking from Ghanasoccernet.com this morning indicate that the two men – David Yankey nicknamed Akpale, 32, and Jonathan Essien, 33, have been arrested by the Tarkwa Police with the other five on the run.
The two suspects will be sent to the Sekondi Regional Police Headquarters for further action on Monday.
The Police are hot on the heels of five other suspects whose names are given as Isaac Arthur, Otwu, Palamo, Sunset and Kofi.
