The Asante Kotoko playing body has missed out on an $18,000 promise made to them prior to the Hearts of Oak game, Oyerepa FM reports.
The Phobians defeated the Porcupines at the Accra Sports Stadium in a game which was tagged as the title decider.
It was Afriyie Barnieh, a former Kotoko trialist, who ensured Asante Kotoko return to Kumasi empty-handed after notching a brilliant goal on the half turn.
The results mean Kotoko remain in second position with Hearts leading the league log with 59 points with three matches to end the season.
However, Oyerepa reports that Kotoko board members promised to give the players $18000 if they had beaten Hearts of Oak last Sunday.
Also, Board Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei single-handedly promised to dash the players GHc 100,000 as winning bonus if they had won the fixture.
Kwame Kesse, son of Kwabena Kesse [Kessben] also pledged $1,000 for each goal Asante Kotoko would have scored in that game.
Meanwhile, the results leave Kotoko in second position with 56 points with Hearts leading the league log with 59 points and inching close to an elusive title scalp.
