Two Ghana Premier League clubs are in hot pursuit of coach Evans Adotey who was recently asked to step aside at his club Karela United, citing health reasons.
Adotey’s departure from the Anyinase-based club comes after Monday’s Ghana Premier League defeat to relegation-threatened Ebusua Dwarfs. The Passion and Pride were surprisingly battered 4-1 at home in the match-day 31 fixture.
After a bright start to the 2020/21 season which saw them lead the league log at the halfway stage, Karela United’s fortunes have taken a nosedive in the second round, hence the club’s decision to push away the head coach.
Coach Adotey guided the CAM Park outfit to 7th position on the league log with 46 points before his sacking.
However, Ghanasportspage.com’s sources close to the gaffer disclose that, his former club Medeama have made contacts with coach Adotey to take over the coaching role of the club after the season.
Adotey joined Medeama in 2013 and spent four seasons at the club. He helped them to win two MTN FA Cup titles in 2013 and 2015 before leaving in 2017.
Another club who have also shown interest in the one-time FA Cup champion according to our sources is Ashantigold SC who have been struggling since the exit of French gaffer Romain Folz.
Both clubs are in talks with the former Black Maidens coach to take over the club in the 2021/2022 football season.
