Heart of Oak manager, Samuel Boadu says the pitch at the Theater of Dreams made their pattern of play difficult against Accra Young Wise.
Hearts despite the suppose bad condition of the field beat Young Wise 1-0 to progress to the quarterfinals of the MTN sponsored Football Association Cup.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored from the spot after he was brought down by the opposition goalkeeper in the box.
The Phobians for once struggled to showcase their free flowing football under the ex-Medeama SC trainer.
Boadu reacting to what went wrong this time said: “Maybe they underrated them but it shouldn’t be so and considering the pitch too they found it very difficult…It was very difficult for our guys to possess the ball.”
He continued that the second tier side were competitive
“It was very tough as we played with a lower side, a Division club. They wanted to show up and exhibit their talent and they know that they are playing with Hearts of Oak, Hearts of Oak is a big team so they will try to frustrate the players but I think it was a nice game and we managed to get one goal, which is very good.”
