Elmina Sharks head coach, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has revealed he has been renting for 8 years since divorcing his ex-wife, Gloria Appiah in 2013.
Odartey Lamptey settled the ex-wife with GHC 200,000, a four-bedroom mansion and two cars as ordered by court after the separation.
However, Gloria Appiah wanted a seven-bedroom house also owned by the former Aston Villa midfielder in addition to her entitlement and thus refused to vacate the house.
In 2017, an Accra high court ordered the ex-wife to leave the house but she filed appealed which was thrown out in 2020 and her second appeal that followed was thrown also got out on Thursday, 15th July, 2021.
Odartey Lamptey speaking with Angel FM in Accra said he has been renting throughout the back and forth with his children consoling him sometimes.
“I’ve been renting for 8 years now since the first ruling while my ex-wife is living in the 7-bedroom house in addition to the 4-bedroom house she has already been given.”
“I sometimes shed tears when I’m alone in my room. My children sometimes encourage me and ask me not to cry again”.
After winning the second appeal, Odartey Lamptey is now clear to drive his ex-wife out the mansion in East Legon.
“We will do whatever now to move her from the house, as soon as possible,”- he told Kasapa FM in another interview
