Raphael Varane, the new Manchester United signing, said his farewell to his teammates at Real Madrid’s training facility for the penultimate time on Friday.
The Red Devils announced earlier this week that they had agreed to a £40 million deal to sign Varane, and the Frenchman will now fly to England to have a medical and sign his new contract.
Varane played for the Bernabeu for ten years after joining from Lens as a youth, and he had a tremendously successful career with the Spanish giants.
Before leaving for Manchester, he paid a final visit to Real’s Valdebebas training center to say his goodbyes to the players, staff, and president Florentino Perez.
Varane had some emotional moments with Luka Modric, Marcelo, and even Gareth Bale, with the majority of Real’s team now back in training ahead of the start of the new season.
Varane made over 360 appearances for Real Madrid throughout his decade with the club, winning three La Liga crowns and four Champions Leagues, and embracing his teammates warmly in some poignant scenes.
