Asante Kotoko head coach, Mariano Joromino Barreto has claimed that the Porcupines is not a big club.
The Portuguese gaffer who is on his way out of the club after guiding the club to a trophyless season in the just ended campaign has taken a dig at the former African champions.
Barreto believes the record Ghana Premier League champions are only a big name club but not a big club in reality.
“Asante Kotoko is a big name and not a big team,” he told Nhyira FM.
Barreto was tasked to win the Ghana Premier League and also the MTN FA Cup of which he couldn’t after finishing the Premier League season in the second position and bowing out of the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage, losing on penalties to Berekum Chelsea.
Barreto was appointed to replace Maxwell Konadu at Kotoko in March 2021.
