Samuel Boadu’s irresistible team are hungry for the domestic double but face a dangerous foe in Ashantigold who will want to end a miserable season on a high.
After traversing the highs and lows of the League season, where the two embarked on completely contrasting paths, Hearts and Ashgold will fight for FA Cup glory on Sunday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two teams booked their final tickets after dispatching Medeama SC and Berekum Chelsea.
For the Phobians, today could see them win their 11th title while opponents Ashantigold could win their first since 1993.
However, following a decision by the Ghana Football Association to rotate the final games of Ghana’s oldest football competition, this year’s final will be staged at the Accra sports stadium. This will be the first time in seven years since the Capital hosted the finals.
In the domestic top-tier this season, Ashantigold are unbeaten in two games against Hearts of Oak, earning a point at the Accra sports stadium in a 2-2 draw before beating the Phobians in the reverse fixture at the Len Clay Stadium.
Yet, with Hearts’ dominance at home this season, it could be an intriguing final on Sunday as they chase the double as well as their first against Ashantigold this season.
The final is scheduled for 5 PM and will be live on Startimes/ Adepa TV.
