Former Hearts of Oak striker Kofi Kordzi is set to rejoin the Phobians after an unsuccessful spell with Qatari club Muaither SC.
Kordzi joined the Phobians in 2019 from Royal FC in a three-year deal after a successful trial. After an impressive 2019/20 which was canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, he was sold to the Qatari Stars League club in an undisclosed fee but has returned to the country after less than a year.
According to a credible source, talks are far advanced between the player and the Phobians over a possible return.
Before his move to Qatar, the Premier League champions assured him of accepting him back should he not succeed.
The tough striker, who is affectionately called Aveyime Drogba, was spotted in the club’s team bus when they arrived at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of their 2021 MTN FA Cup final with Ashantigold which they subsequently pipped the Miners to win.
He was Hearts of Oak’s top scorer in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season which was abrogated due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Kordzi scored six goals in his 14 outings for Hearts of Oak.
Meanwhile, Kordzi scored 8 goals in 22 matches in his first season for Muaither SC.
