Former Hearts of Oak assistant manager, Asare Bediako says the club’s youth team coach, Edward Nii Odoom merits huge recognition for the Phobians success this term.
According to the Aduana Stars trainer, Nii-Odoom put the Rainbow team in good shape during preseason which he believes did the trick for Samuel Boadu who was appointed later in the season.
Odoom handled the team as interim manager at the beginning of the term but after two matches he was appointed as Auroras- Youth team head coach, making way for Serbian, Kosta Papic to take over the first team.
Papic then resigned mid-way through what seemed like a frustrating campaign before Boadu came in and led the team to a historic season double.
However, Bediako who sat on the Hearts of Oak bench in the early part of the season has said Odoom’s hard work at the start deserves full credit.
“For me they should give credit to coach Odum because he started the preseason and everything. If a team will jell it depends on its preseason and he did a very good preseason with Hearts. Therefore, the majority of the credit should go to Odum. Although we all helped at some point but for me, Odum deserves all the credit.” He told Kessben Online on Facebook
