Barcelona have confirmed Sergio Busquets, Gerard Piqué, Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba will make up the quartet of captains for the 2021/22 season.
Sergio Busquets will replace the departing Lionel Messi as the first team captain, who has been at the helm since 2018.
The most recent incumbents before the Argentinian were Carles Puyol, Xavi Hernandez, and Andrés Iniesta.
Gerard Piqué is thus promoted from third to second captain in his 14th season at the club. Having spent seven years in the Barça youth set-up, Piqué re-joined the club in 2008 after spending four years at Manchester United.
In that order Sergi Roberto moves up to become the third captain, having joined the group of captains in 2018 after Javier Mascherano left the club.
Jordi Alba becomes the latest member to join the group of captains. Alba started his career with the La Masia academy before moving to Valencia, where he made his senior debut and later returned to Camp Nou in 2012.
