Chairman of National Circles Committee of Asante Kotoko, Christopher Damenya, has said the fans are ready to demonstrate if the club’s Board of Directors and Management fail to settle their internal rifts.
Mr Damenya says the supporters will march to Manhyia Palace to show their displeasure to the Life Patron of the Club, Otumfour Osei Tutu II if the hierarchies refuse to resolve their conflict in three weeks time.
“Kotoko supporters are ready to demonstrate against Board & management if they don’t settle their differences. We give them 3 weeks or will march to Manhyia to let Otumfuo know our grievances. NCC has tried to meet both parties but to no avail- Christopher Damenya told Oyerepa FM
The Board Chairman, Dr Kwame Kyei and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nana Yaw Amponsah are reportedly not on good talking terms with the latter sort of shading the former in radio interviews.
In addition, Board Member Everlyn Nsiah Asare in a Twitter post on Thursday, August 12, implied that Kwame Kyei is wishing that the CEO fails.
Therefore, Damenya added that the internal problems led to the Reds’ trophyless season.
“Kotoko failed to win the league and the FA Cup because of disunity. The Board, Management and Supporters are not united. There is no peace in Kotoko. Even if we bring Messi & Ronaldo it will amount to nothing. Kotoko supporters are tired of internal squabbles” he added
