Newly-signed Hearts Of Oak striker, Kofi Kodzi has revealed why he has signed for Ghana Premier League Champions as they prepare to play in the CAF Champions League.
Kodi Kordzi left Hearts of Oak two seasons ago for a big money move to Qatari side Mauither.
Though the striker impressed in Qatar, he has rejoined his former club Hearts Of Oak in a two-year deal ahead of the next season.
The 26-year-old adds quality to a star-studded Hearts of Oak attack already boasting the likes of Afriyie Barnieh, Obeng Junior, Salifu Ibrahim, and Agyenim Boateng who recently joined who will all be hungry for more silverware after their Premier League and FA Cup triumph last term.
Speaking exclusively to Accra-based radio station Atinka, Kofi Kordzi explained why he rejoined the Phobians.
“I signed for Hearts of Oak to score more goals in the CAF Champions League and the Premier League”
Kordzi is confident he is rejoining Hearts at the perfect stage of his career, a year after bringing an end to his first spell at the club.
“The team already is in a good form so I wouldn’t come with anything extraordinary but the normal Kofi Kordzi they’ve known”
“But as a striker, everybody will be expecting more from you and stuff”
“What excites me is how the team is in its peak and moving forward at the moment, it will help me because the little you’d do will be noticed easily”
“I’m not coming with anything extraordinary but all that I am praying for is God’s favour to shine upon me, it helps you to glitter”
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak have been drawn against Guinean side Cl Kamsar in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League which begins next month with the first leg taking place in Guinea between 10-12 September.
