Asante Kotoko Board of Directors will on Tuesday hold their first meeting since the end of the 2020-21 football season.
It is reported that the meeting would take place on Tuesday without specifying the time and venue.
Head coach, Mariano Barreto submitted his end-of-season report to the management of Asante Kotoko and left the country for his holiday weeks ago. Reports are suggesting he won’t be coming back to continue his job at Kotoko.
However, management have made plans to replace Barreto with two coaches shortlisted for the job. Prosper Nartey Ogum of WAFA and Yusif Basigi of Hasaacas Ladies have been penned down to take over the club’s head coach role when they officially part ways with the Portuguese.
Names of these two coaches will be submitted to the board at the meeting on Tuesday, according to a report filed by Oyerepa FM this morning.
According to the report, the pair have been selected from a list of coaches who were shortlisted by management.
The board are hence expected to assess the two coaches before making a choice at the long-awaited meeting.
Reports emerged that coach Prosper Nartey had been appointed but Oyerepa FM says the former Liberty Professionals gaffer is in strong contention for the position with Basigi who won treble for Hasaacas Ladies.
