Great Olympics head coach, Annor Walker believes he deserves to be named manager of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season due to some significant victories against the top four finishers.
The Black Stars B trainer together with Prosper Ogum Nartey(WAFA), Samuel Boadu(Hearts of Oak), Marianao Barreto(Asante Kotoko), Vladislav Viric(Dreams) have been nominated for the coach of the year award sponsored by NASCO.
Great Olympics who led the table at some point missed out on a top-four finish- ended up 6th on the table due to poor results in the last few rounds to conclude the season.
Nonetheless, Walker feels a win and a draw against eventual champions Hearts of Oak, a win and a draw against 2nd placed Asante Kotoko, as well as two wins against 3rd placed WAFA and also beating 7th placed Dreams FC twice in the last term, is enough to guarantee him the award.
“I feel that among those nominated alongside me, I stand a chance of winning despite my position on the league table. Because I was able to beat and draw against Hearts of Oak who won the league. Kotoko placed second I recorded a win and a draw against them, beat WAFA home and away and also beat Dreams home and away. So I don’t see the reason why I don’t deserve it…So I feel I should be the best coach of the year.” he said in audio aired on Oyerepa FM
