Laliga giants FC Barcelona have confirmed Ansu Fati is the heir to Lionel Messi’s iconic jersey number 10 shirt.
The club made a rather short and simple announcement on social media on Wednesday.
Previous owners of the great jersey include some of the best ever players the game has ever seen, such Ronaldinho, Diego Maradona, Hristo Stoichkov, Romario, Gheorghe Hagi, Rivaldo and Juan Román Riquelme.
Meanwhile, Fati is still battling his way back to full fitness after a long-term injury that made him miss out on Spain’s 2020 Euro campaign.
The 18-year-old Fati is therefore not expected to feature in Barca’s first UEFA Champions League game against Bayern Munich after the FIFA break.
