Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko winger Ibrahim Sunday has divulged that former Black Stars coach James Kwasi Appiah will not accept the appointment of becoming an assistant coach for the Black Stars.
According to ghanasportspage.com one of the GFA EXCO Members contacted Kwasi Appiah’s nephew who doubled as his spokesperson about the appointment of the Black Stars assistant coach to assist the upcoming head coach after terminating the contract of CK Akonnor and David Duncan but it was rejected before reaching the ears of Kwasi Appiah.
The Black Stars coaching job still remains vacant but Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac has been tagged as the next upcoming coach for the national team for the second time.
Speaking to GL Radio in China, the first ever African to play in the Bundesliga said, “From how I know Kwasi Appiah he won’t come for the job if they call him that’s why I didn’t mention his name as a local coach who can be appointed.
“I don’t think that he will come back. If possible then the president and the opinion leaders have to interfere before he can accept it but I still don’t believe that he can still show up an interest in that again.”
