Asante Kotoko have been busy in the player market recruiting players to add up to quality to compete in the next football season.
Already, the club have signed eight players namely Clinton Opoku, Richmond Lamptey, Maxwell Agyemang, Samuel Boateng, Isaac Oppong, Richard Boadu, Augustine Agyapong and Samuel Appiah.
The clubs’ head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum and the management have been busy recently creating spaces in the squad list to make room for the new signings. Few weeks ago, captain Felix Annan, Augustine Okrah, Martin Antwi, Richard Senanu and Wahab Adams left the club following the expiration of their respective contracts which the club failed to renew.
Media reports indicate that, Prosper Narteh and the management have decided to transfer eight (8) first-team squad members. Some of these under-listed players have already been told to find a new club, with some also going on loan.
The players reportedly on their way out of the club are deputy captain Emmanuel Gyamfi, Latif Anabila who was largely unused under Mariano Barreto as well as Kwame Adom Frimpong and Godfred Asiamah. Emmanuel Sarkodie and Osman Ibrahim who returned from a spell at King Faisal last season could be loaned out to fellow Premier League outfits to aid their developments.
Habib Mohammed who has a contract until 2022 will see his contract abrogated with Samuel Frimpong also close to joining Medeama as Kotoko and the Tarkwa-based club have already reached an agreement to replace Samuel Appiah who recently joined the Reds.
