The former Anderlecht and Ghanaian legend Awudu Issaka has advised Jordan Ayew on former Arsenal star Thierry Henry’s abusive comment after the Ghanaian forward missed a costly chance in a 1 – 1 draw between Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion.
Premier League legend Thierry berated Jordan Ayew following his costly miss against Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday.
In the French international’s comment on Monday, he says “I’d have killed Jordan Ayew if he was my teammate”
“That’s the better option. You score, I come and celebrate with you – we do some somersault or whatever you want, we slide on our knees,” the ex-France international said.
“If you don’t score, I would have killed you. Give me the ball. That is a sure goal. In that position, I’m thinking Benteke.
“This is where, in the Premier League, that’s a 2-0. Yes, he could have scored. But what about this [passing to Benteke], that’s 2-0 and we’re not talking anymore.” the ex-France international said.
According to the ex-Black Starlet Awudu, Jordan Ayew can prove Thierry Henry wrong as a player.
“Jordan Ayew has so far done a lot for Ghana. We have some kind of coaches who always gives bad comment on a player. It was Thierry’s opinion and that doesn’t mean Jordan Ayew is not a good player.
“If you are a player and you hear this comment you have to put the person wrong. Jordan Ayew can prove him wrong. If the goals are not coming that doesn’t mean he is a bad player.
“No, we have some comments that need to be determined to see that it won’t affect the person or cause any problem. During his time he also missed some great chances, it is part of the game. Jordan Ayew shouldn’t take it seriously but should work on his mistakes to put him wrong. That’s all. Says Awudu Issaka on GL Radio in China.
“That Henry’s comment won’t go anywhere. Jordan is still a Jordan. My advice for him is that he shouldn’t listen to all that people say about him, you can admit some and work on it. What Thierry Henry says means Jordan should wake up and put him wrong.” The former Anderlecht midfielder stated.
Jordan has struggled for form in recent months, having scored just a single goal in the Premier League last season and is yet to find the net in six matches this season.
