Serbian trainer Milovan Rajevac has logically separated the boys from the men in terms the performance of his former Ghana squad he led to the World Cup 2010 in South Africa and the current squad he’s leading.
Ghana was only African nation to reach the quarter -final stage of the competition in 2010 which brought the support from all the African countries backing Ghana to make history at that time but unfortunately, the Stars were eliminated in a penalty shootout by Uruguay.
Milovan was a same coach who led the Black Stars to Angola 2010 AFCON helping Ghana to reach the finals but were beating by the Pharos of Egypt by a lone goal. After that estatic performance he left Ghana for a different to handle different teams.
Aftermath the sacking of Coach CK Akonnor, he was appointed again alongside two local coaches with a task to qualify the team to the World Cup 2022 and also make sure to wipe Ghana’s 39-years trophy drought in the next AFCON in Cameroon.
Milovan Rajevac coached some top Ghanaian players like Stephen ‘Tonaldo’ Appiah, Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien, Richard Kingston, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, Kelvin Prince Boateng and others.
After winning two matches with the current squad of the Black Stars it seems to be very difficult to compare the last generation and the current generation according to the 61-year old Serbian coach.
Comparing the two generations he accounted on the last generation as a strong team and successful whilst describing the current generation with more talents.
“It is not easy to compare but definitely the last generation was very strong and successful and in this generation I can see a lot of talents, many beautiful talents for the future so Ghanaians shouldn’t worry about the future of Ghana football. It is important to develop them well and as I said, this is just the beginning and it takes time to set up everything and to correct something’s and to make Ghana okay competitive football at the highest level.
“This is something that is my job and luckily in this last camp, the atmosphere was amazing among everybody and as I said earlier, I am really grateful for the opportunity work in this condition, I have people around me who are very dedicated to their work, my technical team, medical department, equipment officers and President of the GFA was very supportive and all members of the committee including the Ministry and president of the contra so we all have the same goal and this is the only way we can achieve great success.
“I can see so many good comments from the media and the fans so they are equally important in this process so the only way we can achieve great things is if we think the same way and know what is our primary target and do everything in our power to achieve that together and I think we are on the right path.”
Milovan Rajevac is very brave to make history with Ghana again.
