Former Hearts of Oak Star Dan Quaye identifies Wydad Athletic Club’s weak points

Former Ghanaian defender, Dan Quaye has advised the entire Hearts of Oak team ahead of the return league of the CAF Champions League against Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco on Sunday with a tips that can help them to secure the 3 points.

Dan Quaye was part of the Hearts of Oak team that won the Ghana Premier League in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, MTN FA Cup 1999, 2000, CAF Champions League 2000, African Super Cup 2001 and the CAF Confederation Cup in 2005.

With the experience gained by the ex-Phobia defender winning the above mentioned trophies, he has sent a tangible advice to the guys and what can help them to penetrate to the group stages of the CAF Champions League on Sunday in Morocco.

Per his experience shared on GL Radio in China with Sir Martin he said, “I can say that the guys have done well so far because the experience level of the WAC players is ahead and they have been in the Champions League continuously. The only thing I have for my boys is that the football is a team work. When you have the ball at a place you find it difficult find a player at right place and give him the pass.

“There was some similar errors in our forward on Sunday. The north Africans like playing speed but they find it difficult when you slow the game. It is good to win the first game at home with 1 – 0 scoreline but still there are some faults.

“The coach should mount some strategy that will help them. For now we are leading by a goal to none and I won’t back him to play defensive game. Defensive game will not help us but he should let the boys slow the game whenever they have the ball and avoid the long passes.

“They should relax and posses the ball. That one will help us than playing speed game with the Moroccans.

“I beg the strikers. If they have the ball at a wrong place where they find it difficult to score then they should find a player at comfortable place to score because the football is a team work.

“I am praying that the favour will come on our side.” He ended.

Dan Quaye made 10 appearances for the Black Stars between 2001 and 2006.
