Accra Hearts of Oak have arrived in Ghana after failing to qualify to the group stage of the 202/2022 CAF Champions League.
Ghanaians were highly optimistic that Hearts could qualify after their 1-0 lucky win in Accra on 17th October 2021 but Hearts of Oak found themselves tied with a rope of goals in the game.
The game ended 6-1 with the Moroccans granting the tickets to play in the group stages after a 6-2 aggregate scoreline. Wydad Athletic Club has progressed to the next stage of the competition on 6-2 aggregate.
Hearts of Oak will play in the CAF Confederation Cup after their huge defeat to WAC in the play-off in the Champions League. The 43 man contingent who went to Morocco has arrived safely in Ghana today, Tuesday, 26th October 2021.
League Champions Accra Hearts of Oak will begin the defence of their title with a home tie against Legon Cities in Accra. The battle between Coach Samuel Boadu and Maxwell Konadu is scheduled for 3 pm to kick off at the Accra Sports stadium.
