Winners for the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League will receive a cash prize of GHC250,000.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) at a special ceremony on 26th October 2021 launched the 20/2021 Ghana Premier League.
The President of GFA Kurt E.S Okraku in his address revealed the the cash prize for the new season.
“The winner of the GPL will take home GHC 250,000. The runner up will take GHC 150,000 and the third place team obviously will take home GHC80,000. He revealed.
“Each of the GPL clus will receive in total of 40 Tempo footballs for the season. The Tempo company will be handed a total 5,000 footballs to the clubs in the Premier League and the Division One League this year. Each of the Premier League club would be given 40 Tempo balls made up of 30 training balls and 10 match balls for the upcoming season.
“In the GPL, the best referee for the year will also take home a brand new car at the end of the season. The motive behind this is to encourage the referees to deliver good performances over the cause of this season. Each of the Match Officials have already received three officiating uniforms for the GPL campaign.
“In the Division One League, each of the zonal winners will be awarded a car, the second place teams to receive GHC30,000 and medals. Obviously, each of the 48 clubs would also receive 40 Tempo balls for the season. Each of the two winners from the two zones will take home GHC 50,000 plus 40 gold medals and second place teams from each of the two zones will also take home GHC30,000 and 30 silver medals.
“Each of the 20 clubs will receive football pumps, ball bags, jersey team bags, mini movable goal post, training beeps, cones and markers, footballs and 20 shin guards per club for this current season.” he said.
Meanwhile, in the area of television coverage, StarTimes, who are the official rights holder of the Ghana Premier League TV coverage will continue to telecast the games and some selected matches on Max Tv and the GFA app which will be launched soon.
This was revealed by the President of the Ghana Football Association.
According to him, the broadcasting giants will employ their unmatchable expertise to enhance coverage of the local game via digital TV and also on other available mediums.
The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League is set to kick off this Friday, 29th October.
