Public Relations Officer of Ashantigold Mr. Eric Karikari has revealed their target for the just started Ghana Premier League.
The league kicked off yesterday at the Accra Sports Stadium with an opening game between newcomers Accra Lions and Elmina Sharks which ended 1 – 1 after the full throttle.
Ashantigold were found on 9th position on the league table at the end of the 2020/21 GPL season which was a bad news for the club.
The club will on Sunday play against Eleven Wonders in their season opener.
The club’s main target this season is to end the league within the top four according to their PRO.
“Actually we haven’t made any target for our first five games but our main target for the league is to come on top from where we ended last season. This time around we are able to solve all the misunderstandings between the supporters and the leadership. They’ve come on board to support the team in terms of bottle water the team will use for all the 34matches.
“You could see that there is a new wave in Ashantigold. We have peace now and if that continues for the fans to support us in all our matches then we know that things will go on well for us.
“We haven’t set any target for ourselves for the first five games but the main target is to enter the top four”. Mr. Karikari told Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe of ghanasportspage.com
