West African Football Academy (WAFA) made much needed return to winning ways with a commanding 2-0 victory over struggling Elmina Sharks on Sunday afternoon.
The Sogakope based academy boys shrugged off goal drought they’ve suffered recently as they put two past Sharks to extend the Elmina based side’s already four matches winless streak. Two goals from Sampson Agyapong and Justus Torsutsey were enough to see WAFA go home with all three points in their bags.
The home side began the game pressing high in search for an early goal until their efforts finally paid off during the added time after the end of the first 45 minutes, when Justus Torsutsey converted from the spot to put WAFA in front.
WAFA doubled their lead just 5 minutes into the second half through their star man Sampson Agyapong, who buried home the second after a successful multiple passes.
The game finished 2-0 for the home side WAFA. The defeat to WAFA on Sunday has further pushed Elmina Sharks below the drop zone, as they currently sit 18th on the 18-team log with 7 points after 11 games played.
