Coach Milovan Rajevac has named a 28-man squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations scheduled for next week in Cameroon.
Initially, the Serbian tactician invited 30-man squad for the preparations but only 28 will make the trip to the 33rd edition of the AFCON.
All the five local players (Richard Attah GK – Hearts of Oak, David Abagna – RTU, Maxwell Abbey Quaye – Great Olympics, Fatawu Issahaku and Philemon Baffour, Dreams FC) are included in the final squad for the mundial.
The team is expected to jet off from Qatar to Central Africa on 7th January. Their arrival date was rescheduled due to delay arrival of the contingents.
Ghana will open their 5th title race with Morocco a day after the kick off.
The tournament is scheduled for January 9th to February 6th, 2022.
