Kotoku Royals and Susubiribi SC sold a very impressive match at the Oda Park in the Akyem derby. The two teams went into the contest neck to neck on the League table with only one point separating them.
Susubiribi SC led the table with 16 points while Kotoku Royals sat in second place with 15 points after 7 matches in the Zone.
The leaders however could not stand the test of time as Kotoku Royals beat them 2-0 on Sunday to leapfrog them. The two Eastern Region clubs are chasing after a Premier League status and this win will do Royals a lot of good in their title aspirations.
Deen Sherif Mohammed Richard Dzikoe were the heroes for Kotoku Royals as they scored in either half to give them all the spoils at the Akyem Oda Park. Third placed Tema Youth who lost 2-0 to Uncle T United last weekend, needed a miracle to beat Vision FC at the Tema Park where Samuel Amoako’s own goal gave the Harbour Warriors a vital home win.
Ibrahim Jabir scored a brace when Liberty Professionals beat Kwaebibirem 5-2 at the Heroes Park at Akyem Tafo. Seedorf Asante, Kwadwo Boamah and William Oduro also got their names on the score sheet while Rashid Suleiman and Abdul Rahman netted for the home side in the seven goal thriller.
Meanwhile Abdul Razak scored an absolute beauty at the Dansoman Carl Reindorff Park as Heart of Lions beat Nania FC on Saturday.
