Fans of South Africa have taken over Facebook, jubilating over Ghana’s winless run and the short exit from the AFCON.
The same people who cheered up the Black Stars during the 2010 World Cup by using ‘Bafana Bagana’ have turned to mock the Ghana national team after their short exit from the AFCON with 3-2 disappointing defeat to Comoros.
The contenders made unwanted history yesterday to tear apart the hearts of Ghanaians.
The shocking defeat for the four-time champions Ghana sees them finish bottom of Group C and exit AFCON at the group stage for the first time in 16 years.
Comoros has an outside chance of being among the best third-placed finishers, though their minus two-goal difference will likely count against them.
Ghana finished with just a single point and it is the first time in their history that the Black Stars have failed to win at least one group stage match having made 22 past visits to the finals.
Morocco topped Group C with seven points, followed by Gabon on five, with both teams advancing from the group after their match finished 2-2.
The jubilation of the South African’s come after their one-nil controversial defeat to Ghana during the World Cup qualifier game in November last year that sees them off the playoffs.
They threw their support to all the three teams that played against Ghana in Group C.
Let’s have a look at some of the comments from the South African’s below.
