George Afriyie pushes dagger into the skull of failure Kurt Okraku

Former Vice President of the Ghana Football Association George Afriyie is pushing out what could be the solution to the dwindling fortunes of Ghana Football by boldly proclaiming that it’s time the country take youth development in football seriously, rather than the mere verbal hymns being sung around by the leaders of the Ghana Football Association.

George, who has been out of the country on football business could not have offered the solution at a more opportune time than the evening in which Ghana was disgraced by Comoros at the Afcon in Cameroun. He had earlier been spotted at the Kotoka International Airport arriving from abroad where he took part In juvenile football programs.

He wrote on social media why Ghana is failing and where we should be heading to.
“We have to start proper football development, the foundation needs proper development . All countries are taking youth development seriously”.

This from George seems to be a further push of the dagger into the skull of the FA President Kurt Okraku and his lieutenants who promised so much for juvenile football but had so far offered very little to lay the foundation for a new take-off in Ghana football, which he had promised during his campaign for elections, and after taking over as president of the FA.

The post from George is also for the fact that Kurt has failed in getting the Black Stars to win the Afcon or even qualify from the group stages, something George has done while at the helm of affairs at the GFA.

A lot of commentaries are going on in the wake of the failure of the senior national team to progress beyond the group stage, placing last in a group made up of Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.

Most Ghanaians are condemning the Kurt Okraku led administration as well as chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee George Amoako, who is reported to have dozed off in one of Ghana’s matches in Cameroun.

There have been calls for the FA to sack George Amoako and Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac for their failure in helping the Black Stars excel in Cameroun, while others are calling for the resignation of Kurt Okraku.
