Tema Youth kept hold of the first spot in Zone Three despite drawing goalless with Akosombo Kystal Palace in midweek. This was after recovering from a 2-0 loss to Liberty Professionals to beat Kwaebibirem 3-0 on Match Day 12.
The Harbour Warriors still sit at the top of the Zone Three table with 26 points – after 11 matches into the season – two points ahead of Oda Kotoku Royals and Liberty Professionals who are in 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
This weekend, the Harbour Warriors will entertain Nania FC at the Tema Park with an aim of opening the gap and retaining the top spot as Kotoku Royals continue to breathe down their neck.
Midfielder Evans Osei Wusu has scored 6 goals and lies behind Jabir Ibrahim, Osah Bernahinho Tetteh and Offei Gideon in the Zone Three top scorers chart. Tema Youth have recovered from an early season shock to display some fine football in the Zone with their rich vein of experience working to their advantage.
They climbed to the top of the Zone Three table after thumping Mighty Jets 5-0 at the Tema Park three weeks ago where Evans Osei Wusu grabbed a hat-trick in-between Stephen Appiah Asare’s opener and Richmond Darko’s final goal. The Harbour Warriors comes up against a Nania FC side that lie in 13th place in the League table with 14 points – 12 points behind their hosts.
Second placed Kotoko Royals will aim for the three points against Uncle T United FC at the Oda Park. The Royals were pegged back at the Legon Park Nania FC in a 2-1 defeat. The home side have picked up 24 points from 13 matches while Uncle T United sit in 11th place with 15 points – 9 points off their hosts.
Fresh from their 2-1 home win against to Accra City Stars FC at the Car Reindorf Park, Liberty Professionals Heart of Lions will travel to play Accra Young Wise at the Doboro Blue Skies Park. The former Premier League came from a goal down to record 6th win of the season to move to the 3rd spot in the League log.
