Chelsea have won the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time after beating Palmeiras from Brazil in an extra time.
The game finished 1-1 after the 90 minutes with a classic performance demonstrated by both sides.
After the 55th minute, Romelu Lukaku was able to get the opener for the Blues with an assist from Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Chelsea was due to win the game with Lukaku’s goal but never happened as it was equalized by Rafael Veiga of Palmeiras.
Since the game was held to a 1-1 draw, the law and the rules handed both sides another 30 minutes of an extra time to separate them.
At the 117th minute, German attacker Kai Havertz scored the winning goal for Chelsea to secure a sensational victory.
The Brazilians ended the game with ten men after Luan was sent off at the final minutes of the extra time.
This is the third major trophy for the Blues in a year.
They were crowned as champions of Europe after beating Manchester City to lift the UEFA Champions League and also defeated Villarreal at the finals of the Super Cup.
Kai Havertz made a history to score a second winning goal at the finals for Chelsea following last season’s goal against Man City at the finals of the UCL.
