Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum explains how they stopped Accra Lions in the midfield
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Head coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Prosper Nartey Ogum has tactically revealed the changes he made in the game to stop the visitors from dominating in the midfield in today’s week 17 action.

Despite the triumph Coach Ogum still believes his side was initially struggling to cope with the Lions in the center of the game.

Tactically, he identified two positions (the left and the right-wing) as unnatural with his players where he started Lamptey and Boateng to play from.

He made a change and introduced a new style of play as he deployed Lamptey into the midfield from the left side of the pitch during the game.

He also brought in Richard Boadu Agadas after the recess to hold the lads with a superb effort.

“I think is okay, we did well because we have two positions that were a bit unnatural with players on that position. Those players that we played, for instance Lamptey playing on the left side which is unnatural about the team and then Boateng also playing on the right side which is not natural so it gave Accra Lions the opportunity in the initial stages of the game to control the middle of the park so when we saw that we quickly decided to this time around bring in Lamptey into the middle of the park and I think when Lamptey came it became stabilize and then finally in the second half when we brought Agadas it became superb.”

The Reds ended the game with 3-1 conclusive success against the visitors to extend the lead on the league log.
