Hearts of Oak fitness coach, W.O Tandoh has opened up about the speed and weakness level of Kotoko defenders following the Phobians 2-1 triumph on Friday against the Porcupines in a President’s Cup epic clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw with their sworn rivals in their first meeting this season in the GPL encounter. The Reds endured one of their painful ever defeats after their 2-1 loss to bitterest rivals Hearts on Friday in Accra.
Aftermath the victory, the Rainbows fitness coach has claimed they have exposed the defenders of Kotoko.
Hearts have picked up 26 points from their 18 GPL matches, and they have yet to fight to reach the top four.
W.O Tandoh is highly motivated the club can still work hard to defend this season’s FA Cup trophy and the league title despite trailing league leaders Asante Kotoko by 14 points.
In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, W.O Tandoh said, “We want to defend both the GPL and the FA Cup title. Kotoko is having 40 points but we have 26 points. Is not late. If they draw four times, lose twice and we the Phobians also claim victory from that six games then what happens? The points are closed. They are sitting at the top of the table whiles we sit at the seven positions with 26 points but anything can happen.
“The most important thing is to make sure we will not concede or draw from matchday 19.” He stated
Speaking about Kotoko defenders, the Phobian boldly claimed; “We have exposed Kotoko defenders for everyone to see they are weak at their defense so any team that plays a speed against them then fantastic… anything can happen. Playing against Bechem United we saw what happened and if not for the referee they would have lost. Hearts will work harder to close the gap because we don’t have contention with any team. Ours is playing a Premier League in Ghana and knows where to reach.” W.O Tandoh ended.
Hearts of Oak will welcome WAFA in their next fixture of the GPL when they return after winning the President’s Cup graced by His Excellency President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo.
