Aduana Stars and former Asante Kotoko striker, Yahaya Mohammed has told Light FM Sports that he will be surprised if Otto Addo does not invite any local player for the Nigeria game.
The Black Stars coach is yet to release his belligerent squad for the upcoming decisive clash against the Super Eagles.
According to the 2012/13 GPL winner, Hearts of Oak duo, Sulley Muntari and Dennis should be invited into the national team alongside prolific Bright Agyei of Aduana Stars and Imoro Ibrahim.
Ghana will host the Super Eagles in the first leg of the World Cup play-offs at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25 before the second leg clash in Abuja.
Sulley Muntari who signed a year deal with the title holders in the local league has touched the hearts of Ghanaian football fans and he is likely to return into the Black Stars after eight years.
Danis korsah also joined Hearts of Oak in the mid season from Ebusua Dwarfs. The left back have been a fantastic player from last season and he demonstrated a good performance as a left back in the GPL.
Prolific Bright Agyei has bagged 12 goals after week 21, and he is the second top scorer of the ongoing GPL.
Adjei was a member of the Ghana national under-23 football team, the Black Meteors in 2015. He was a member of the squad that featured during the 2015 All-African Games in Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo. He also earned call-ups to the local Black Stars in the past whiles Imoro Ibrahim, who deputised as captain of the Porcupines has shown a massive performance as a left-back.
Commenting to the call-up of players into the Black Stars, Yahaya revealed; “I will be surprise if coach Otto Addo does not invite any local player for Nigeria game, and for me i will be disappointed if players like Bright Adjei of Aduana stars, Sulley Muntari of Hearts, Dennis korsah or Imoro Ibrahim are not invited into Blackstars.
“I feel that Bright Adjei is an ideal striker for Blackstars.”
As a versatile striker with several years of on-field experience, Yahaya was a crucial player in Ghana’s U20 team that participated in the 2007 Toulon Tournament in France. After playing well in his short stint with the Black Satellites, on 7 August 2007, Yahaya was called up by Claude Le Roy for a FIFA International friendly match against Senegal in the New Den Stadium in London, England on 21 August 2007. Hard work and perseverance awarded him a wonderful opportunity yet again in Ghana’s national squad that competed at the 2011 African Nations Championship.
