The Sports Minister Honourable Mustapha Yusif has confirmed that tickets for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers between Ghana and Nigeria later this evening, Friday, March 25 have already been sold as with the exception of just one aspect left as of 18:00Hrs GMT on Thursday.
The Sports Minister briefed a section of the media present at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Thursday during the Black Stars last training session ahead of today’s crucial game. The honourable member confirmed that tickets for the VIP West Stand Upper Terrace, VIP Lower Terrace North, VIP Lower Terrace South as well as the VIP North Wing have all been sold out as of Thursday.
The tickets, which are being sold electronically, have been made very accessible for people to sit in the comforts of their homes and purchase it ahead of time, and the process, though not without little challenges for patronizers, has quicken the sales. Fans who would like to have a seat at the 40,000 capacity Baba Yara sports stadium are to take note, and ensure they have secured a ticket via the electronic means before entry into the stadium.
“The tickets are already sold out, the only tickets left for sale is the popular stand”, Mustapha Yusif told the press on Thursday.
He urged fans to make sure they purchase a ticket in advance while at home before coming to the stadium there will be no tickets available for sale at the stadium as it usually was the case.
“The VIP is sold out, the VVIP is sold out, so anybody who wants tickets, this is the time. You would have to get your popular stand at least you will be inside the stadium to watch your match. If you don’t do that and you come to the stadium here you won’t have access”m he cautioned.
To educate the public on methods of applying the eTickets for the match, Honourable Mustapha threw more light on how to acquire the tickets beforehand.
“We have made access to tickets very simple; sit at home, your office, everywhere, dial *711# and get the ticket in 1 minute, and your ticket will be delivered to you on your phone. When you come there is a code, it will be scanned and you enter, very simple”, he explained.
