Current Champions Accra Hearts of Oak have advanced to the quarter final stage of the 2021/22 MTN FA Cup after an interesting Round of 16 encounter against Elmina Sharks on Sunday evening.
Hearts of Oak scrapped their way through to the last 8 after defeating charged Elmina Sharks by 8-7 after penalty shootouts after the match had ended 2-2 in regulation after 90 minutes plus eventual 10 minutes added time.
The Round of 16 fixtures which started on Saturday, has produced very interesting games with King Faisal traveling to the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman, a neutral grounds for both teams to defeat RTU by 2-4 defeat to secure a slot at the quarter final stage. Dreams FC also won 4-2 on penalties on Saturday over Legon Cities after a 0-0 draw at full time.
In a seven-goal thriller, Tamale City handed Young Apostles an emphatic 5-2 defeat to book their place in the quarter final stage.
On Sunday, Bechem United, Aduana Stars, Accra Hearts of Oak, Sky FC all went past their respective opponents to advance to the quarter final stage, making the list complete ahead of the quarter final draw.
