The Black Stars of Ghana have seen an insignificant rise among their competitors in world football following the latest FIFA World rankings of men’s football senior national teams released on Thursday.
The Black Stars of Ghana are now ranked the 60th best team in the world in the March rankings published by the world football governing body, FIFA on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Ironically, the Black Stars current position in the the world rankings is 30 more places behind Nigeria, whom they defeated over two legs to become the first African team to secure qualification to the FIFA World Cup finals which commences in Qatar in November 21 to December 18 later this year.
The Super Eagles are currently ranked 30th best team in the world and 3rd best team on the African continent.
The Black Stars of Ghana are ranked 60th best in the world and 10th best team in Africa, one place behind Burkina Faso who are currently ranked 10th best in Africa. Current holders of the Africa Cup of Nations trophy, the Teranga Lions of Senegal are number one in Africa and now the 20th best team in the world.
Morocco comes second best in Africa behind first placed Senegal with Nigeria as the third best in Africa.
Ghana were ranked 11th best team in Africa and 61st in the world in the February rankings, and have now moved one place up with a total points of 1428.97 from the previous 1381.45, making a upward adjustment of 47.52 points.
Egypt, Tunisia, Cameroon, Algeria, Mali and Côte d’Ivoire come behind Nigeria, placing fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and nineth respectively.
