Shilla Illiasu raves over difficulties in the upcoming Super Clash between Hearts and Kotoko

Former Ghanaian international and ex-Kotoko defender, Shilla Illiasu says the two giants should expect a tough competition in today’s Super Clash.

The game which was initially scheduled for 6:00 PM has been moved back to 3:00 PM.

Kotoko managed to pick a point against their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the first leg of the GPL but lost 2-1 in the President’s Cup.

Ahead of the third Super Clash, Illiasu says playing in a Super Clash is like playing for your life.

He explained that the game will be tougher than the first two encounters but his former side will find a possible way to win the game.

“When featured in a Super Clash is like playing for your life because checking at this season, this will be the third time. We even lost in the President’s Cup but Sunday’s game will be played under daylight at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. I’m not sure that Kotoko players will sit at home to concede another defeat. The game will be very very difficult. Normally, form doesn’t count in a Super Clash. Form doesn’t count so looking at the two sides am not sure that Kotoko will allow the league to go. For Hearts of Oak, we know because it is history.

“Kotoko normally beat them in Accra and they are also capable of beating Kotoko in Kumasi. Sunday’s game will be difficult but Kotoko will find the possible way to snatch the three points or split points.” Illiasu told Ghanasportspage.com

Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have already faced off twice this season, one in the Ghanaian top-flight league and the other being a ceremonial cup match, both played at the Accra sports stadium. The first, which was the league match ended goallessly, but the Phobians climbed to defeat the Porcupine Warriors by a 2-1 scoreline to win the 2022 President’s Cup.
