Sierra Leone International Musa Noah Kamara has emerged a hot cake following his dazzling exploits at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations for his nation, which led to the famously shocking 2-2 draw against the Elephants of La Cote D’Ivoire during the group stage of the tournament in Cameroon.
The 21-year old talented striker is currently one of the emerging top young strikers on the continent, and has now attracted several interests from giant top clubs in Algeria, Egypt, Croatia and Belgium.
Kamara gained attention following his impressive performance for Sierra Leone in their maiden Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Cameroon in January, after he scored his first international goal for the Leone Stars with a magnificent left-footed 55th minute strike in a 2–2 draw with Cote d’Ivoire in Sierra Leone’s second group match of Group E.
In the said game, Kamara received the ball from a national team mate from the left flank at the edge of the box of Cote d’Ivoire, beat one defender before placing the ball on his left foot and, making no mistake, unleashed a thunder bolt shot past Cote d’Ivoire goalkeeper Sangare. Despite Sierra Leone’s failure to qualify into the last 16 of the AFCON, Kamara was a tournament discovery at least for his country, after shining in their first group match where they held the then defending champions Algeria to a goalless draw.
The Bo Rangers forward scored twice in a 3-1 premier league win for the Elephants against Mount Aureol SLIFA on April 2, 2022 to help his side reclaim the top spot on the premier league table ahead of his former club and defending champions of the league, East End Lions. Musa Kamara, passionately called ‘Tombo’ by fans, has been in a red hot form for the Sierra Leone premier league giants Bo Rangers this season.
Bo Rangers currently lead the league log with 54 points, two points ahead of defending champions East End Lions who have a game in hand.
Kamara has played for East End Lions of Sierra Leone, Ethiopian Premier League side Hadiya Hossana Football Club before joining Bo Rangers in April 2021. He has represented Sierra Leone at the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations. His current performance in the domestic league has attracted several interests from big clubs in Africa and beyond. We gather also, that Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman are among the big clubs on the continent chasing the signature of the 21-year old top striker.
It is only a matter of time whether top Ghanaian clubs like Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak join the race or not.
