Three of the four quarter final matches of the 2021/22 MTN FA Cup competition have been cleared on Wednesday with three teams through to the semi finals, making the pairings for the semi finals all but set for the May showdown.
In the Wednesday matches, 2016 Champions of the competition Bechem United booked their place in the semi final after easing past second tier side Tamale City FC with a 4-2 victory at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Wednesday. Aduana Stars survived last minute scare from fellow premier league side King Faisal to secure a 3-2 win to progress to the last four.
At the Theatre of Dreams at Dawu, Dreams FC showed their premiership supremacy over stubborn second tier side Kotoku Royals to progress with a marginal 2-1 victory, thanks to a late winner from Adamu Amadu that powered the Still Believe lads a historic semi final appearance in the FA Cup competition, the first in their history.
After the results of the quarter finals have been made known, the semi final pairings have now been confirmed. Hearts of Oak, the holders of the title will face a test from Skyy FC in the next 15 hours (from the time of filing this report) when the match kicks off at the Accra sports stadium to complete the quarter final set of matches.
