The Disciplinary Committee of the Central Regional Football Association has finally ruled on the case between Kenpong Football Academy and Apata Kofi Football Club following the abrupt end of the said match.
The two sides were in a 1-1 stalemate, with Apata scoring through a penalty before Kenpong equalized later. But the unexpected happened in the 80th minute when officials and supporters of Apata stormed the pitch at Pomadze DA School Park, assaulting referee Phillip Forson in the process. The match officials refused to continue the match, after which Kenpong protested for the 3 points and 3 goals, in line with the rules and regulations of the FA.
The DC of the RFA finally released the ruling declaring Kenpong winners of the match and awarding them 3 points and 3 goals from the said match, after confirming that indeed the referee was slapped by an official of Apata and later assaulted by supporters of the home side.
In the decision signed by the administrative Secretary Vivian Effie Nyarko and sighted by your authoritative ghanasportspage.com, Apata is deducted 3 points from their accumulated points build up and also fined One Thousand Ghana Cedis, half of which is to be paid to the Petitioner Kenpong FC.
Kenpong now takes the lead in the Zone 7 table of the regional league with 13 points while Apata drops to 7 points.
