Head coach for the Black Maidens of Ghana, Baba Nuhu has disclosed the strategies his side will use to approach Guinea in their upcoming World Cup qualifier game.
Baba Nuhu’s side edged out Senegal, beating them with a 4-0 aggregate scoreline in the previous round of qualifiers before squaring off against Guinea in the third round of the qualifiers for a place at the Mundial.
The game with Guinea is scheduled for Saturday, April 16 at the Stade General Lansana Conte de Nongo in Conakry with the return encounter happening at the Cape Coast Stadium on April 30.
According to the head coach, his side will use the first fifteen minutes of the game to monitor the Guineans before they settle on how to play.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter as they hope to qualify for their seventh appearances at the ByWorld Cup, Coach Nuhu Said;
“For how we want to approach the game, I think basically we will not go openly because if you look at their last game they also played very well and scored a couple of goals so we have to approach the game with all the tactics.” He stated.
“We want to go from low to medium and monitor them in the first fifteen minutes because that will tell us how we can approach the game or if we have to keep them like that. But for the first ten to fifteen minutes we should make sure that we are going to hold them as it is and we will study them and then if we have to open we will open.
“They are not also a bad side because playing two legs and scoring as many as nine goals tell us that they are not a bad side at all especially they played 2-2 in Liberia and scored a lot of goals at home. We have to be careful and very tactical and the way we approach the game that is why we don’t want to open up in the first fifteen minutes.” Coach Nuhu ended.
