Hearts of Oak ended their week 25 GPL game in a disappointed 1-1 draw with relegation battling side, Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Hearts of Oak geared up with the first goal at the first minute after ex-Basel defender, Samuel Inkoom scored a sublime freekick to open goal scoring account after in second start.
After scoring the first goal, Hearts applied a little pressure in search of a second goal but the visitors relaunched their performance to restore parity before the half time.
The visitors levelled the scoreline after a quick counter from the Phobians side through Michael Asamoah at the 28th minute.
Hearts returned from the break with more pressure but the away side were determined to snatch a point.
Despite bringing in their leading top-scorer, Kofi Kordzi into the game during the second half, Samuel Boadu’s side could not make their chances to restore the lead.
Elmina Sharks are still struggling to scape relegation in spite of sharing the spoils with the title holders. They sits at the bottom of the table with 19 points and the Phobians occupying the 6th place behind Medeama SC with 37 points.
