Manchester City U-23 have won the Premier League for the second time in a row.
English-born Ghanaian youngsters, Kwaku Oduro 19, and 18-year-old Darko Gyabi were among the winning team last night in England when Manchester City’s U-23 side climbed to win the league title.
Manchester City’s under-23 side lifted the Premier League 2 trophy yesterday at the Etihad after successfully defending their title this season.
City’s youngsters sealed the title with a hard-fought 3-1 win at Leeds last week, giving Brian Barry-Murphy’s squad a second successive league triumph – making City only the second side to do that since the league was formed.
They thrashed Everton by a 7-0 scoreline at the Etihad in their final match of the season having sealed the Premier League 2 title last week.
Manchester City celebrated their Premier League 2 title in devastating style at the Etihad with a seven-goal performance led by the irresistible Cole Palmer.
The young guys climbed with the goals coming from Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis, Oscar Bobb, Liam Delap, and Brazilian International, Kayky.
The Ghanaian midfielder, Darko Gyabi may look to be one to take advantage of some players moving onwards or upwards, so he did his chances no harm by twisting and turning to fire in a seventh after only 74 minutes. He came off the bench at the 53rd minute for Kayky.
However, Kwaku Oduroh, the defender watched the game from the bench as the team ended in victory to lift the league title.
They won the league with 54 points after 26 games.
The junior side will be expecting Pep Guardiola’s side to beat off competition from Liverpool and the EPL title.
