Hearts of Oak forward Benjamin York has dismissed reports regarding a return to his former club FC Samartex 1996 on loan at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old joined the Phobians on a five-year deal in August 2021 from the Division One League club but has failed to command a starting role or get enough playing time under Coach Samuel Boadu.
After putting up an impressive performance during the weekend against Dreams FC in Accra to win the MOTM, the attacker cleared of the rumor concerning a return to the Division One League side but he is trying to work hard to secure a role in the Rainbows team.
Speaking to Ghanasportspage.com, York claimed of knowing nothing about the report coming from the sports fraternity.
Being asked about staying with Hearts of Oak or going back to his former side who are on the verge of securing a place in the GPL next season, the player stated; “For now I don’t know nothing about that. I don’t know whether after the season or…but I don’t know where the news came from. If there is anything like that then I don’t know. I am not sure of making a return.” York concluded.
After 26 match-days in the Ghana Premier League, York has made only 7 appearances for the Rainbow club, warming the bench in 14 games and failing to make the squad for 7 fixtures.
The uprising forward joined the GPL title holders after registering 12 goals and providing 4 assists in 24 matches for Samartex in the Division One League last season.
